AVON VALLES NATIONAL PARK

Located 45km north-east of Midland, the park features granite outcrops, forests and views over the Avon Valley and River. With over 90 bird species identified within the Park. it is a popular spot for bird watching From Midland proceed north-east towards Toodyay for 4Okm to the signposted Morangup Road, which leads 5.3km to the signposted Quarry Road and entrance station to the national park. To access the sectionof park on the northern side of Avon River, take Plunkett Road, which is accessed off Harper Road from Toodyay.

Drummonds campsite

SignpostPd access along Governors Drive, 2.5km west of Homestead CS access track, Then drive in 400m to the small camping area with limited camper trailer space. Suitable for camper Irdl|ers with 4WD tow vehicle due to steep access, Bring drinking water and firewood.

Bald Hill Campsite Signposted access along Governors Drive, 2.5km west of Homestead CS access track. Then drive in Zoom to the open camping area with free form camping and some shade, Some tank water. Bring firewood.

Sappers campsite Located on file northern side of Avon River, From Toodyay follow the signposted Harper Road in a westerly direction as it becomes Julimar Road. Follow this for a total of 25.2km to the signposted Plunkett Road. This unsealed road leads south for 5.7km to the signposted park boundary. continue for 3 . 2 k m to the signposted Sapper Road, which h leads In a easterly direction towards the river. There is a track closure gate at 1,3km - this site is seasonally closed, Steep access track.

37 Mile Break campsite

Located on the northern side of Avon River. Follow directions as for Sappers Campsite. From Sappers Road continue in a south-westerly direc.tion for a further 5km to a track on the left. Take this track and follow it in a southerly direction for 2.5km to a track on left which then leads in sam to the bush camping area Bring drinking water and firewood,

Perth Campsite part2 (Ballidu-Beacon Area-Beelu National Park-bencubbin Area-Beverley- Bibbulmun Track)

Ballidu

Ballidu was originally settled in 1909, to the east of the present townsite, and services the surrounding grain and sheep farms. Located 240 m nort -east of Perth along the Northam-Pithara Road, 25km south of the Great Northern Highway. Wildflower area.

Ballidu Caravan Park Located on Wallis Street in Ballidu, close to all town facilities. Laundry facilities. Bring firewood.

Beacon Area

Beacon is situated in the north-east wheat belt, 315km north-east of Perth and 48km north of Bencubbin. The region is popular with birdwatchers and wildflower lovers.

Campsite on Beacon Area:

Beacon Caravan Park

Located on Lucas Street in Beacon, close to all town facilities. Gas/fuel stove only. Laundry facilities. Biliburning Rock camping area Located 34km north of Beacon. From the eastern end of town take the signposted Ingleton Road and follow this north. Unmarked walks up the rock. Bring drinking water and firewood.

Beelu National Park

A range of nature based activities are run throughout the year through DEC'S Nearer to Nature program at the Perth Hills National Parks Centre. Activities include bush crafts, guided walks, discovering Nyoongar culture, animal encounters, and during the warmer months an outdoor cinema. Alternatively, visitors can enjoy one of the scenic walks through the national park, even a section of the Bibbulmun Track or enjoy the views over Mundaring Weir. Access to Beelu National Park and Perth Hills National Parks Centre is signposted from Mundaring via Mundaring Weir Road.

Perth Hills National Parks Centre campsite From Mundaring take the signposted Mundaring Weir Road and follow this for 6.1 km to the signposted

Allen Road.

Allen Road leads 500m to the information centre, car park and campsite. Carry gear from car park into camping area with 12 sites in shaded location. Camp kitchen Firewood supplied. Popular area for school

groups and the like.

Patens Brook campsite

Located 3km from the Perth Hills National Parks Centre. Walk-in site on Patens Brook Trail. Limited water supply, best to take own. Firewood supplied. Gas/fuel stove preferred.

Bencubbin Area

Bencubbin is the centre of the north-eastern wheatbelt and is 273km north-east of Perth. The area has a rich grain, w eat an sheep farming history. A large variety of wildflowers can be seen during the wild loWer season from June to October.

Campsite on Bencubbin Area:

Bencubbin Caravan Park Located at the southern end of town on the Bencubbin-Trayning Road. Laundry facilities. Marshall Rock camping area Located 10km south-east of Bencubbin. Signposted access on Marshall Rock South Road off the Mukinbudin road. Bring drinking water and firewood. Gas/ fuel stove preferred.

Beverley

Beverley was established in 1838 and is located 135km east of Perth in the central wheatbelt region on the banks of the Avon River.

PERTH AND SURROUNDS

Situated on Council Road in Beverley, behind the council chambers, within walking distance to town facilities. Gas/ fuel stove only. Laundry facilities.

Bibbulmun Track

The Bibbulmun Track is Western Australia's longest walking track. The track starts from the Perth suburb of Kalamunda and finishes at Albany on the south coast, totalling 963km. Marked the full length, the track was originally designed for urban people to go bush. The northern section of the Bibbulmun Track is from Kalamunda to Donnelly River Village. Bibbulmun Track walkers will traverse some of the south-west's most beautiful and scenic regions and experience a variety of forest types. The track can be tackled in one go for those with the time and energy or can be done in sections with numerous vehicle access points along the track. All walkers should be well prepared and self-sufficient. The purchase of the excellent Bibbulmun Track Guides and maps are recommended.

NB: No fires at Yourdamung and Blackwood campsites or in the Lane Poole Special Conservation Zone. Fire restrictions occur from October to May, please contact local authorities to obtain current details. Carry copy of maps and guides.
